Hobsons Bay City Council & Buloke Shire
Urban Rural Friendship Alliance

In 2006 the Hobson's Bay City Council and the Buloke Shire Council forged a formal Friendship Alliance. The alliance means that the residents and traders of both area work together to help each other, and to promote each other.

Later that year the Donald Chamber of Commerce placed an article in the Altona local newspaper inviting us “City Slickers” to come up and visit, shop and eat in the township of Donald to inject much need money into a town that was suffering from years of drought and failed crops.

The Altona Village Traders Association answered their call and headed to Donald for Christmas, providing hampers, bikes and more importantly moral support.

The friendship and support  between our two towns is as strong as ever  today and will continue for many years to come.
