Getting to Altona by Car

Altona is very accessable by the road network, sitting just off of one of Melbourne's main arterial freeways.

To get to Altona from the Melbourne CBD, get on the Westgate Freeway. Travel across the Westgate Bridge, and take the second exit (Millers Rd.) left off the freeway. Drive down the length of Millers Rd. and you are in Altona! The entire trip takes between 15 and 20 minutes.

Altona has ample car parking for visitors and shoppers. There is unlimited car parking areas along the beach front, and timed parking along the main shopping strip in Pier Street. Unlike many shopping areas in Melbourne, there is no fee for parking in these areas.
