The Altona Beach

Altona beach is one of the finest family beaches in Melbourne. Situated on Port Phillip Bay with views to the Dandenongs on one side, and the Point Cook Nature Reserve on the other.

Altona Beach is located at the end of Pier St. in Altona. (See Map)

It is frequented by many families during the warmer months of the year, and is perfect for sunbaking, swimming, snorkeling, and beach sports. In the deeper waters off the beach many people enjoy jet skis and boating.

In the cooler months of the year the pier is a popular destination for fisherman trying their luck.

Altona Beach is well serviced by ample car parking, and is only just across the road from all the convenience of the Pier St. shops and cafes.

The local council do a great job of keeping the sand clean and rubbish free, as well as free from any debris. It is truly one of Melbourne's best kept secrets.
